why i missed school for 3 days...

horrible horrible thing happened...

my tai guma (my eldest aunt on my father's side) passed away on Saturday, 19th July 2008.

everyone was shocked by the news because tai guma had no medical history except high blood pressure...

it happened in the morning..
she went to buy some "chasiew" apparently...
she walked there as she lives in Singapore...

then...

suddenly she was sesak nafas...

she called my uncle, but by the time he arrived, it was too late...
she suffered from a heart attack...
and passed away...

through all the drama...
someone even had the nerve to STEAL HER PURSE!

then...
the Singapore people, being gay as usual,
sent her for post mortem...
wth?

they thought someone murdered her....

fortunately they were wrong...

so at about 10 am...

i received the news...
i was so shocked and sad..
i really did not see it coming...

though she was 69, she was too young...

Though she lived so far away...
almost every year without fail, she would bring her grandchildren (my nephews and niece) down to KL and stay with us...
she would cook for us really delicious cooking...
buy us stuff from Singapore...
give us money ,though she had little, from her taxing job as a canteen worker in a politeknik universiti in Singapore which called for her to work from 3am to 5pm...

but she did not complain...

everytime i went down to Singapore since i was a baby...
i would stay with her in her apartment...
Her house brought many good memories...
i never had a memory of Singapore without her...

this time when i went down...
there was none of her delicious cooking...
none of the giant fishball she would buy specially for me...
nobody came to hug me and welcome me back to the house...

instead i was greeted with the moaning of her husband...
sad and unsteady...
this was really disturbing...
he always seemed like a really strong man...

most of my extended family came down to Singapore on Saturday...

-but my brother did not as he had a scouts test session... -
-stupid gays...-

but we had to wait until Sunday for her body...

And when she arrived...
Everyone broke into tears...
we love her so much...

she was a Catholic so we prayed the Rosary for her many many times...

by Monday...
most of my extended family went back( to return on Wednesday for the real funeral...)

so i was left with my nephews and nieces (who lived in singapore) and a few other cousins...

to keep ourselves from dying of boredom...
we played psp, nintendo DS, handphone games n cotaiti!

call us disrespectful if you want....

but at around 7...
we had to start working...
the peak time for people to arrive...

serve them drinks, nuts, etc..

and around 8 or 9...
a friar would come and we would say prayers...
and after that we would say the rosary...

phew...

we would only head upstairs to sleep at about 1...
and then we have to wait for the bathroom as there is only 1 which we can use...

so we sleep at about 2...

on Monday night my brother took Aeroline to Singapore...
so proud of him...

finally! i missed him...

then on Wednesday everyone came down to Singapore again...

we said prayers at the house...
then a car came and they put the coffin in...
we followed until they asked us to go into a bus....

then we headed to the St. Mary of the Angels Church in Singapore.

i remember going there with my aunt on Sundays for the mass...
and i sat at our usual place...

but wait...
I had to do a reading for the funeral mass...

so me, Daniel, and Isaac (my nephew) had to sit at a designated place...

my reading: (not the exact same one)

The reading from a letter of Paul to the Romans (chapter 14: 7-12)
The life or death of any person among us is not a matter for that person alone. If we live, we live to give honour to the *Lord. If we die, we die to give honour to the *Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the *Lord.

*Christ died and he came back to life for this reason. It was so that he might become our *Lord in life and in death. You should not accuse another Christian. You should not be cruel to that person. We shall all stand in front of God when he acts as judge. *Scripture says,

‘ “You can be sure that I live”, says the *Lord.

“So you can be sure that everyone will kneel in front of me.

And every person will give honour to God.” ’

So each of us will have to explain to God the things that we have done.

then we headed to Mandai Crematorium...

we did not see the actual cremation...
but they showed us the bringing of her into the room....

and everyone was screaming....
it was scary...

we may be sad...
but it is also a happy occasion...

she is now with the Lord...
in her creator's arms...

please say a prayer for my aunt...
that she may reach heaven peacefully...

.........

may she rest in peace...
